St Cuthbert’s Way, St Oswald’s Way and the Northumbrian Coastal Path can all be joined at their various stages near to the village of Belford. Further inland, the Cheviot Hill range provide excellent walks and viewpoints from where you can enjoy 360 degree views of the picturesque landscape.
The 120 mile Sandstone Way cycle route is a fabulous way to see more of the area. There are also numerous country lanes and bridleways to explore.
The hut is situated approximately 1.5 miles from the village of Belford where you can pick up your every day essentials from from the well equipped village Co op/Post Office. Alternatively a more extensive range of amenities, including large supermarkets, can be found in Berwick-upon-Tweed or Alnwick, both only a 20 minute drive away.
The city of Edinburgh is easily accessible by being only 45 minutes away by train from Berwick Railway station. Newcastle can be accessed by car within one hour.
A car is advised due to the rural location. There is parking space for 1 car adjacent on the pitch. If you require space for an additional car please let us know and we will endeavour to accommodate you. The site provides direct access on to the Coastal driving route between Alnmouth and Lindisfarne and various places between.
From coffee shops to fish & chip take aways, to pub lunches, fine restaurants and everything in between, there are so many places to choose from in the various towns and villages near by so there is always something for everyone!
